I have been attending supervision with Lucinda on a regular basis for over 8 months and have found these sessions to be incredibly useful for both personal and professional development. Lucinda is a trustworthy person who creates a space that is safe, inclusive, and comfortable. In supervision with Lucinda, we engage in critical thinking and reflexive practice which strongly benefits my professional practice and the effectiveness of treatment. Lucinda has the ability to provide supervision for a range of topics and issues that are both practice related, but also personal. These include topics such as conflict management in the workplace, honouring my queer identity as a clinician and making practice more inclusive for the LGBTQI+ and neurodivergent populations, managing performance anxiety and perfectionism, managing imposter syndrome, support in implementing various therapeutic approaches to practice e.g. ACT, and support with various client related concerns or issues. Lucinda’s ability to be non-judgemental makes it easy for me to seek critical feedback and support for improvement in my practice. Lucinda has extensive knowledge of services and resources beneficial to clients, as well as resources and training opportunities for professional development. Lucinda’s expertise and skills as a social worker and supervisor have had a significant impact on my identity and skill development. I could not recommend her more highly!
Imogen T - Mental Health Clinician
In the time I have spent being supervised by Lucinda, Lucinda has pushed me to continuously analyse my practice through a social work lens. They have encouraged me to look for the social work practices within a mental health setting and explore the impact they make on the wider community. I have enjoyed working with Lucinda and only recently, through supervision, recognised that the things I had enjoyed learning from Lucinda most were all social work-related practices. Lucinda advocates for social justice through their work. They dedicate so much of their time to making sure communities have access to the services they need. They do this in the way they document, report, and refer people’s care. When the organisation cannot meet a client’s needs, Lucinda manages to find better options for them in their referral process. I have observed Lucinda work tirelessly... to ensure each client is best supported – and wider communities can continue to be provided with access to needed services. I have learnt a lot from Lucinda - they are full of knowledge around services, processes and social work practices – and have taught me how to take thorough assessments, manage risk, escalate care and make appropriate referrals. Yet what I have admired most is their empathy, their ability to connect with those around them and the way they have used their skills to make sure they are always supporting people to the best of their ability. Lucinda has taught me the importance that self-reflection and self-care play in relation to achieving best practice in social work. I will take all of these learnings with me, the most important - to me – being how to best care for others and myself within the social work profession.
